A Pair of Rainy Day Flats for After-Work,…FINALLY!!!

This would be one of the more personal entries that I would be posting.

At work, heels are required. So by the time I get off from work, I usually take them off and wear my sneakers for these reasons: 1.) my feet hurt,
2.) it might rain & i don’t want to ruin my leather shoes, 3.) i have somewhere else to go, 4.) driving is easier. Recently, employees have been prohibited from wearing sneakers / flipflops with uniforms when leaving work. Only black flats are allowed (open/peep-toes are not allowed as well…hence, sandals aren’t either). So I thought maybe I could buy black flats that are comfy and “waterproof”.

First, I thought about jellybean shoes, but then it wouldn’t look good with office clothes.

I saw something like this in Girl Shoppe but it had too many holes :( big holes.

And so I was eyeing for crocs primas.

So this weekend I went to High Street, and found out they don’t have half sizes. Size 5 was just the “exact size” for my feet –and I always opt for something a bit bigger for space and to avoid uneasiness. And guess what, size 6 was just too big…there was a half-inch allowance and they obviously looked big for my feet. So I sighed and walked away. T_T lol.

…by the way, I saw fake crocs in Market Market in Otto,,, they sell them for I think 200+ pesos only and they do have the perfect size for me. However, it really smelled like rubber. As in goma. Gomang-tsinelas. Not good. (Rubber-scented feet. Ewww. lol)

Anyway.. so I lost hope and just thought that I should just probably wear my leather heeled-shoes the whole day.

But that night, my cousin celebrated her birthday in a restaurant in Serendra. To “relax” our stuffed tummies, jacu, paul and I took a walk. We went up to the second floor to checkout the pictures in Blow Up Babies, and later we passed by a store named Souk….and through the window..there it was… I knew that this was THE ONE. I immediately went inside to check it out.. I tried it on and voila! –It felt great! Ate, magkano po ito?
-five hundred twenty five. My boyfriend said, “let’s take it.” ..and he bought it for me! Weeeeee!!!! :-D

It’s made of plasticrubber -if there’s such a thing. But that’s how I would describe it. Rubber, because it’s stretchy. Plastic, because it’s shiny! From afar, it actually looks like leather shoes. Just what I need! They’re even slimmer (and cheaper) than a pair of crocs prima! :-D

Other colors include bronze, purple and orange-yellow. I couldnt remember the others. But they’re really cute. I’ve been using them for two days and they felt really great. Sufficient ventilation and breathing space for the feet, and they’re really bendy. Like ballet shoes or something.

And that’s my shoe-story. ;-)
