Did you see those CROCS?!?
Have you seen these?

When I first saw them in Rustan’s Shangri-La,I thought they looked funny. “First, the Birkenstock rubber clogs. Then now, another kind that’s also flashy, bulky, and weird.” I used to think that shoes made entirely of rubber create calluses on our feet and that it would make our feet sweaty if you don’t use socks with them especially on hot days. Plus, it could leave that rubber-scent… which doesn’t sound pleasant at all.
So far, I haven’t seen anyone wearing Crocs. But my cousin told me yesterday that he saw those Crocs in the mall and apparently he thinks they look really cute. By the way, he’s about 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 200 pounds, and a law school student. Strange, huh?
Anyway, so I finally checked the website (crocs.com) to see if this kind is any good. Let me enumerate the reasons why an original Croc should sell:
-
1.) it molds to your feet
2.) it has big air ventilation ports
3.) it’s slip resistant
4.) it resists bacteria AND odor
5.) it has a roomy footbed
6.) it is made with Croslite and
7.) …it floats!
For the price of Php 2,000+, I think it’s kinda worth it. Actually, they also have flipflops, rainboots, maryjanes, flats, & wedges for ladies, and even the kind with mickey mouse holes in it! If you happen to be on their site, try to read the testimonials section. There was a lady who was thrown against some rocks (don’t worry, it was only because there was an oncoming tide) and she was surprised to see that her Crocs stayed on her feet. Oh, and there was also this bride who wore hot pink Crocs in her wedding. Haha!
So think about it, especially if you’re the “outdoor type” (and also if you’re the type who could relate to that Lemonheads song). Croslite is a kind of material that “would allow for greater range of motion, leading to maximum flexibility and performance.” Who knows, maybe someday you’d be one of those who gave testimonies about Crocs footwear!
