Have you been to THE BLOCK?
For those living up NORTH in QUEZON CITY, checkout SM City North Edsa’s The BLOCK. Remember that open parking space in front of Cyberzone? You won’t find it there this time coz they built this new building—which I strongly agree is a lot better than the main SM North building. It’s really spacious, it has better cinemas, newer shops and restaurants.
All I need to do is make one jeepney ride to get there from my place. So yesterday, I went window shopping to see if they have some cool shoes over there.

First stop, I checked out what’s in store at the People Are People store… City boys and urban men—who think Vans slip-ons are over-rated slash jologs—,checkout their slip-ons with “preppy prints” for two thousand bucks only! It was kinda bendable and it’s not as heavy as any vans slip-ons. See those 3 metal dots on the sides? They create a different attitude too, right? What do you think? And for the ladies… how about a pair of flats that’s really light and good for long walks? It’s fashionably simple.. it’s available in red, white and black. Its material is like a combination of leather and rubber which makes it really easy on your feet. But I doubt if these would be recommended for hot days or outdoor walking. Maybe it would be great for malling, if you’re not into wearing sandals or sneakers in malls and if you’re shoe-hunting (that way, it’s easy to remove and wear when you’re trying on shoes). Oh, let me talk about the shoes I saw in Shoe Salon. Have you seen those Gola flats before? I think they’re the perfect pair for outdoor walking; plus, it comes with prints! The material is the kind that would allow ventilation for your feet, and it’s more bendable than the ones in People are People. And even if it’s about three times lighter, it’s also sturdy enough to throw into the washing machine.

Guys, don’t feel bad, there’s a perfect pair of walking shoes for you too! Try checking out Hush Puppies and check out their WAVE REFLEX edition! It does seem flexible and extra-decent. It would look good on “sophisticated” men with ages 25-50. It’s basically made of suede, it’s classy (NOT GEEKY), and it DOES NOT come in bold colors.
However, if you’re not into suede shoes, then why don’t you check out Traffic. It’s a men’s shoe store where they have leather shoes and walking shoes. They have these sneakers that are a bit shiny, but not too urban. It’s not too plain and it still has SOME style. I don’t think it’s the kind for guys who are too stylish. It reminded me of an adidas gazelle vintage. Only that it has small holes on some parts. Would it be comfy for long walks? I don’t think so.

Moving on, I saw a really sexy pair of shoes in People Are People—it’s so foxy, it would go well with a pair of hot lingerie! Well, of course you could also wear it with clothes… but believe me, you’ll get a good head-to-foot look from everyone who bumps into you
So… this metallic gold peep-toe is layered with black lace. It could also make you look extra-long-legged because aside from its high heel, its front sole is a bit elevated. Not bad, huh?

Want to have an idea of what a pair of Maldita shoes looks like? Check out this combination… purple fur and green synthetic snakeskin! Pardon the shot… it was not “ok” to take photos of their products… so I took it with me in the fitting room.
So whenever you are in the mood for some fun, autonomy, and a bit over the foxiness, I guess this is the kind you gotta wear!

Now, let me share something that the youngsters might be interested in… first, the ladies. Checkout Via Uno, Fiorucci, and Wade for girly-shoes with bold prints that seem fun. The one I saw in Via Uno (stylleto) looks sweet and sexy. You can use it in formal occasions like graduations or birthday parties and I think it would also go well with a pair of sexy jeans. The white platforms look fun too—checkout the heart-shaped hole in the sole! Anyway, being a lady doesn’t mean that you have to wear high-heeled shoes all the time… checkout the polkies in Fiorucci! The heel is made of wood too! Interesting, huh? Now, are you into the wet-look pair? Here’s a glossy-looking pair from Wade with leopard prints! See the price? They’re on sale!

How can a youngster live without sneakers! Checkout the newest pairs I saw in Shoe Salon. I’m sure you’ve seen the JACKASS CHUCKS already! Available in high and low cuts… and both still provide that attitude! For girls who prefer to wear white sneakers, checkout those white chucks from the same store—it has an embroidery by the heel: pink hearts!
So that’s about it! That was my trip to THE BLOCK this weekend. ‘Hope you enjoyed the shoe-tour! Seeya!
